The «Hide This for YouTube» extension hides videos from your feed that belong to categories you described in your own words.
Whether a video fits your description is decided by a language model. It does not run inside the browser, so the video's title has to be sent out — to our service, and from there to the model's provider.
All of it goes to our service, and from there to the provider of the language model, which answers what the video is about. Only its answer comes back.
An ordinary request is not kept. The question arrives, goes to the model, the answer comes back to you — and no text remains anywhere. The server's log records one line with no content in it: the response code, the time, the length of the question and of the answer, and the IP address.
A broken request is kept. If the model answers with an error, or sends back something impossible to read, the question and the answer go into the server's log in full.
What stays with you alone. The list of hidden videos, your categories and everything else the extension remembers live in the browser on your own device. We cannot see them and cannot read them. A button in the extension erases all of it for good.
For every video it hides, the extension tells YouTube that the video does not interest you — the same thing as pressing that button by hand. Over time the feed stops offering things like it.
This is on by default, and it can be turned off — the "Send «Not interested»" switch in the extension's settings. Turn it off if you do not want the extension changing anything in your account.
Nobody, except the provider of the language model that answers the question. Nothing is sold, nothing goes to advertisers, and nothing is used for anything other than answering your own question — hide this video or not.

Remove the extension and nothing of it is left on your device. There is nothing to delete on the server: nothing is held there but lines with no content in them and the rare record of a failure.
